A mounting body of evidence suggests that leaders with high Emotional Intelligence (EI) tend to outperform leaders with low EI in most leadership situations. There is also evidence that high levels of stress may reduce a leader’s ability to effectively perform his/her role as a leader. In fact, there are numerous examples of leaders experiencing Catastrophic Leadership Failure™.
This workshop explores the relationship among EI, stress and leader performance in a variety of settings. Leaders contend with stressful work environments every day. The relationship between EI and stress seems to be such that stress actually reduces a leader’s ability to use his/her full EI ability. Research also suggests that the higher a leader’s EI, the more resistant his/her leadership performance may be to high levels of stress.
This is a dynamic workshop packed with examples, data (EQ-i® and MSCEIT®), exercises and best practices for developing Stress Resilient EI™ in leaders (and non-leaders). Other features include:
| Conference Features: |
- Identification of EI abilities and competencies most susceptible to stress.
- How the interaction of stress and EI impacts leadership performance.
- How to build Stress Resilient EI™.
- How to mitigate the impact of stress at both the individual and organizational levels.
